The new Trident LS101 is a high quality monitor featuring two 5" low to mid drivers and one 1" dome tweeter.
The design features a magnetic screen built into the cabinet to shield speaker magnetism
from close proximity computer monitor screens, perfect for the DAW
user working in restricted studio space.
The power handling capability of the monitor is 50 watt RMS at 4 ohm
and the dual gold plated speaker terminals allow for bi-wiring.

Guitar Center Superstore in Manhattan
Mid November saw the opening of the latest Guitar Center Superstore in Manhattan, New York. This ultimate retail outlet has everything a musician needs including the latest Trident Audio Series 80 5.1 console.
This 32 channel board arrived along with the Trident Pro Team of Chris West, David Cherry, Kevin Ryan and John Oram.
"We have enjoyed incredible success with GC over the last year with our Trident S20 and S40 rack pieces and to have the console here, to meet the salesmen and be part of this celebrated launch has been fantastic," said John Oram. "The Series 80 5.1 is rapidly finding homes around the World and fills a pure-analogue slot under $65,000. We all wish Tim Miller and his team at GC further success with this New York outlet."

Omar Hakim buys first Trident S40 from
Guitar Center Superstore in Manhattan
When Omar Hakim, drummer behind Madonna, Sting and countless others wanted a new mic pre, he came to the new Guitar Center Superstore in Manhattan. The Pro Audio room there is perfect for the comparison of microphones, channel strips and speakers. He compared many of the best units available and chose the Trident S40 Channel Strip. "The pre is so incredibly open and huge, transparent yet with a personality of its own. I love it! I am recording vocals in my studio this week."
John Oram and his Pro Audio team were on hand to explain the functions of the unit prior to flying back to the UK. Said John: "Being a drummer too, I had a great time meeting Omar. One of my classic drumming hero's. I hope this will be the start of many more meetings, and product sales into his studio."

The first ORAM BEQ PRO-24 in Europe Studios Holland
You are invited to meet hit engineer Vincent Claase at his Studio in Tilburg, Holland and to hear the first ORAM PRO-24 console in Europe. "My studio has undergone a total refit, this new console is the centre piece, it's so musical, it has a human feeling, says Vincent. I also have a Oram Hi-Def EQ rackmount, it has a great quality of 'air' for vocals, it's outstanding, just beats them all.
I have worked on other consoles: SSL, DDA, Soundtracs etc. but none of them have such a warm sound as my PRO-24 console. When I have a sound in my head, it is ORAM Sonics that creates my fantasy sound. It's really is a fantastic console. I love it!"
Vincent co-engineered Holland's No. 1 hit single 'You' by Judith and is now working on her album.

THE JOHN ORAM FOUNDATION FIRST IN EUROPE
MAGNETIC are the first studio and music production company to benefit from The John Oram Foundation. Formed in 2000 to help new and young talented businesses to develop sooner. The owners Tom, Antoine and Wim Arijs of Merelbeke, Belgium came to The Old Forge in Kent to sign their agreement with John Oram over lunch and take their ORAM BEQ Series 24-24 console.
They said: "Without the Foundation we could never have done this deal. From our initial petition to the Foundation, the whole thing took only three weeks to be accepted and have our console. This quality of board will really elevate our studio to a level unheard in Belgium. We love analogue and John Oram's designs. They are musically the best."
John Oram comments: "Both these guys have just what it takes to make it to the top. The business guidance from Antoine and the help the Foundation will be providing on an on-going basis will, I am certain, prove very successful. They are the first in Europe to join our new venture and I am delighted to have been able to help. By encouraging the youth of the recording business is the best way to secure all our futures."

Randy of B.T.O. and Guess Who fame chose to buy the authentic reproduction S80 from John Oram, Chairman of Trident Audio Ltd., at the Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim recently. I'm called the "King of Analog" said Randy, so to meet the "Father of British EQ.," and get a piece of classic history in my studio is great. I am sure that my old Neve will be very jealous at the use I'm going to be giving to the Trident I've really missed the Trident sound and am so glad to get this Trident S80 Producer Box.

The foundation has been set up to help young people entering the industry.
"It is important that new engineers, musicians and budding producers don't just learn their technique, but the value of great sounding audio" - John Oram.
The first scheme to benefit from the foundation will be Catalyst Broadcast and Entertainment, a training school in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, USA. with a total of five studios equipped with Oram consoles, due to open in the first half of the year 2001.
